The Key To Letting Go Of The Past

The Key To Letting Go Of The Past:

One of my final resolutions for the Happiness Project is to find a way to let go of the past.  When I say that I’m referring to regret about opportunities squandered, people let down, feeling hurt.   There’s on thing that I’ve learned that works every time when you find yourself dwelling on the past and that is always keeping yourself busy.

“In all the years he walked this earth, I swear all he did was work.  He said, ‘ the devil dreams on a idle horse, so you listen to me, Squirt”  Van Zant, Help Somebody.

When you keep your self busy whether its on work or play, your family or friends, hobbies or education, you won’t find yourself thinking about the regrets of yesterday but continuously moving ahead to your future.

I was near the end of 2016 when I realized that my life was totally out of balance. I was 30 and I was working my life away. I did not have strong relationships with my wife, family, or friends. It was around this time that I came across THE HAPPINESS PROJECT by Gretchen Rubin. It was then that I decided to launch my own year long project towards personal happiness for the entire year of 2017.
