Today was the grand opening of the new Reimagine Place structure downtown. As you can see, I was a little late for the ribbon cutting.
Nice to see organizations working hard to make Downtown Syracuse look nicer.
Here is an excerpt from the AIACNY website.
REIMAGINE PLACE, a new AIACNY initiative, aims to design and construct a series of architectural installations, in the form of outdoor interactive structures, to reactivate underutilized public spaces for the gathering and interaction of community residents and businesses. The first site, which will be located on the southeast corner of East Genesee St + South Townsend St, is set to invigorate the Connective Corridor and enhance what is considered the gateway into Downtown Syracuse from the east. Engaging the community, through hosting an open design competition available to anyone who works, lives, or studies within Central New York, will maximize the quality and effectiveness of creating these community spaces.
