Hidden in the middle of nowhere…drove right past it, it the Great Swamp Conservatory.
You don’t usually associate “Great” with “Swamp” but this place was beautiful
Located on the outskirts of Canastota is this refuge for birds, frogs, and other wild life.
Saw some beautiful blue birds and some of the loudest bull frogs that I’ve ever heard. They would actually cry out loud when you appr before they dove into their underground boroughs.
I would go again but I would wait until the dog days of summer. The trails and walkways were still very waterlogged from all the rain this spring.
