May Recap Part 2

 Work Outside

May had a mixture of good weather and very rainy weather.  My house is located close proximity to the Erie Canal and a few “lakes” form in all corners of our yard.  Plus the restaurant has been crazy most of the month.  So I didn’t get as much done as I would like.  But I’m starting to realize that no amount of tasks completed is ever enough in my eyes.

None the less I wasable to prune some trees and get most of the foundation, trim, and porch painted.   It’s turning out really nice.

My wife was able to de-weed the flower beds and create a sleek rock wall.

Print Memories

The idea of going to a local Walgreens or Wal-Mart to develop pictures from my phone or camera sounded like a daunting task.   But what I fool I am, given modern technology I learned that I could take photos from Facebook and Dropbox and have them delivered to my house right from Walmart.  I’m told that Shutterfly is awesome too and cheap if you have promo codes.

I picked out 50 photos quick and was charged a whole $6 with free shipping.  Who knew..?

Teach and Learn

Kind of an ambiguous resolution because my work as a manager revolves around teaching people something everyday and in turn learning something knew once in a while. 45768-James-Oppenheim-Quote-The-foolish-man-seeks-happiness-in-the.

This month I had my assistant teach me about our online hiring and recruit system…took me a while it get it down…one thing that I wish stayed on paper.

Extreme Diet

Had a guest tell me today that I lost weight.  So that felt good.  lol.  I did super well for the first half of the month.  Almost completely refraining from red meat and fried food.  That all kind of went out the window when I visited New York.  But I came to the realization that dieting wasn’t going to make me happy.   Being fit and healthy would.

I love food.  So I will be happy with splurging on the good stuff in moderation and keeping up with my running and gym routine.

5 Months down and I’m feeling pretty good.  Another busy month Ahead for June.

I was near the end of 2017 when I realized that my life was totally out of balance. I was 30 and I was working my life away. I did not have strong relationships with my wife, family, or friends. It was around this time that I came across THE HAPPINESS PROJECT by Gretchen Rubin. It was then that I decided to launch my own year long project towards personal happiness for the entire year of 2017.
