This year’s Tough Mudder in Virginia is only 40 days away on June 9th and I’m determined to walk out of Richmond with my head held high. So for the month of May I will be upping my dietary restrictions as well as my exercise regimen. Dieting is very hard for me. I work in a full service restaurant that has enough menu items to fill a twenty page menu. I’m a fat kid at heart, I love my pizza, chicken wings, and candy. I remember when I had to sit out of the first football game one season because I was over the weight limit for my age. Dieting and exercise (and the removal of my rib padding) endured I made weight the following week.
As for exercise, I’m holding steady with three days jogging , two days at the gym. Usually 30 minutes each. I’m looking to up it to 5 days jogging, 3 days hitting the weights. To do anymore I will need to “manufacture” some time. Let me pencil in those 4:AM wake ups again.
With the exception of special occasions (I am heading to NYC in two weeks) I plan on holding myself to the following dietary restrictions.
- No Fried Food
- No Red Meat
- No Pork
- No candy, cookies, or other baked goods
- Limit Bread consumption
- One Soda per day
- One cream per coffee – down from three.
