March Recap Part 2


Run 3 times a week.

Started out the month great.  Running 3 days a week as well as going to the gym 3 times a week.  Then “Stella” took over.  No not the brew, which sounds good right now, but the winter storm.  In the aftermath my work schedule took over and I can honestly say that I did not keep my resolution completely.  Out of 6 scheduled workouts a week I probably averaged about 4 work outs per.    Good news is that I am down 13lbs from Jan 1 and my upper half is starting to show signs of some definition as the warmer months …fingers crossed…are coming.


Get in the Spirit.

First the first time since I was a kid, I personally decorated my home for a holiday.  I had a lot of fun doing it.  I even wore green on St. Patrick’s day.  I sported the Syracuse Basketball sports band…even though they suck.   I know it was small but it’s more than I have done in the past.  I feel guilty being a kill joy so I look forward to celebrating future holidays…maybe I will be Santa Clause this year…eyes rolling.


Manage my Mid-day.

Another successful resolution.  I wrote earlier in the month how I would usually be “blown out” as one of my manager’s put it by 2 in the afternoon.  Wouldn’t return to productive mode until about 5pm.  It only took a little focus and planning and I was able to manufacture some productive time in the afternoon which would carry over into the evening until bed.  Check back to my “Manage the Mid” post earlier in the month for more details.

I was near the end of 2016 when I realized that my life was totally out of balance. I was 30 and I was working my life away. I did not have strong relationships with my wife, family, or friends. It was around this time that I came across THE HAPPINESS PROJECT by Gretchen Rubin.
